Sacred Tomb, Soggy Tunnel

This Sabbath we went on to the Garden Tomb for a tour.  It was a beautiful sunny day with a breeze now and then, and we enjoyed the company of the JC students.  Becca Frei said she knew our oldest daughter Megan from her freshman ward.  So this photo is for Megan. 

Emily helped me add notes to this blog entry, and she took several of the photos at the end of the post.


The Garden Tomb is near a busy, busy street. This is a bus station. Crucifixion would usually be at a busy street.

Most of the time the water came up below our knees, except at the end and the beginning, when it came up over our knees.
Plaque in the tunnel: The lower rough plaque is a replica of an ancient inscription about the two teams of tunnelers meeting in the middle.
